Season

    • The second season of conservation of the Roman pavements of the House of the Large Ĺ’cus was carried out between the beginning of September and the first ten days of October 2014. During the previous excavation season the excavations of the INP-Oxford project had brought to light large portions of pavements in mosaic and opus sectile that the confirm the exceptional nature of the building. The new and and important discoveries mphasize the urgency of their conservation, both for their immediate safety and in view of a future valorization of the site. The intervention thus had two aims. 1) to safeguard the existing pavements and 2) to create a project for future conservation with site protection and programmed maintenance.
