    Summary (English)

    • The cave, which opens onto the slopes of the Quirra montains, is well known to speleologists for its intricate network of low, narrow tunnels. The excavations, begun in 2002, concerned the room nearest to the entrance, which is also the largest of the spaces which form the complex. Although the stratigraphy has been somewhat disturbed by animals and by small clandestine excavations, the deposit, occasionally sealed by carsitic formations, is in good condition, even though the skeletal material is no longer completely articulated. It is, however, possible to exclude the possibility that the bodies were secondary depositions, as has been suggested for those of the Bannanaro culture.

The grave goods included tripods, pebbles, and articles of personal adornment consisting of necklaces with pierced beads and bone and shell pendants, as well as beads formed from stalactites. There were also two complete brassards, and a deer’s tooth. In this deposit, which does not seem to be contaminated, were also found some beads in glass paste, whose dating is, however, not entirely certain.
