The excavations uncovered a stratigraphy of great interest which documented the occupation phases of the grotto from the middle Palaeolithic period onwards and defined the palaeo-environmental characteristics of the surrounding habitat.

The excavation campaigns have brought to light numerous finds relating to the lithic industry of the middle and upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods, together with pottery fragments from the Neolithic phase. Worthy of note is the find, in the upper Palaeolithic levels, of an infant burial and several bone pendants used for personal ornament.
