Summary (English)
The 2002 campaign at Gherghiţa took place in the location of the “elementary school”. A section was opened (23.40 m length; 1.50 m width) near the 16th century mediaeval foundation discovered the previous year. We found three dwellings from the 16th century and a big kiln (1 m) with a lot of burned material. Dwelling no. 3 was the richest in coarseware (mostly sherds): candlesticks, dishes, jugs, with geometric white and yellowish decoration. We also discovered two pieces of stove tiles with floral decoration and a tube-tile having a joining system for warm air.
