This year the archaeological excavations at Siliştea – Pe Cetăţuie had some new objectives, such as: observing the occupation levels, following the trail of the stone cluster that was identified last year and searching for artifacts in the wooded area. We could not find many differences regarding the stratigraphy. Under the humus appear the artifacts that form a 40 cm deep level, followed by a yellowish layer without artifacts. We identified three occupation levels and two new religious complexes represented by animal bones laid under big stone slabs. The pottery represents the main evidence. It belongs to the Costişa and Monteoru communities and certifies they lived in the same period of time. We also found many bone and stone artifacts, as well as metal ornaments, including a bracelet and a Noppenringe.
