Summary (English)
The plot of land is situated to the north-west of the Alba Carolina and the camp of Legion XIII Gemina. To survey the field that the beneficiary is going to build, three sections were drawn, marked SI….SIII. The sizes of the excavation units are SI: 8 × 1 m; SII: 2 × 2 m; SIII: 2 × 2 m. During the contemporary period the field was systematised on the vertical; it can be seen in stratigraphy and corresponds to levels A and B (partially). In level B, the filling level, we identified also sherds dating back to the end of the 18th – 19th centuries, relating to the occupation level to the NW of the bastion fortress; starting from the depth of -1.05 (-1.20) m from the current treading level, we identified an ancient humus, archaeologically sterile. As it results from the archaeological excavations conducted until now, within the excavated area, the archaeological finds dating to the Roman period might belong to edifices such as villa suburbana, as their density is lower than that of the edifices inside the Roman cities. This aspect can explain the fact that within the excavated area we identified a Roman period treading level (ancient humus), but no artifacts or vestiges dating to that period were found.
