The research at Bumbeşti Jiu – Gara was conducted inside the stonewall castrum, in praetentura sinistra. We excavated two sections: S1/2005 and S2/2005. In S1 we identified a river stoned road which made the connection between via principalis and via sagularis. Besides the usual inventory like building material, sherds made by hand or by wheel and metal artifacts, we discovered a silver denarius coined by Lucius Verus. All the archaeological finds of the 2005 campaign at Bumbeşti Jiu – Gara date to 106 – 170 AD.
