Summary (English)

  • The new archaeological research at Cheile Turzii in 2004-2005 was focused on the following aims: investigation of the Cooper Age levels and interdisciplinary research with Prof. Dr. Paolo Biagi from Venice University, Paolo Biagi (University Venice, Dep. for Antiquity and Near East), Italy; Michaela Spataro (London Univ.), Lucreţia Gergari and Corina Ionescu Univ. of Cluj), Gherhard Trânca (Vienna); Daissa Beatrice Ciută ( Univ. Alba Julia). In ,,Peştera Ungurească’’ there are many disturbances at frontal profile, made over the time, by archaeologists and amateurs for the antiquities. We have cleaned a frontal and from east of profile to obtain enough samples for the analysis of the organic materials and dating, in order to start an interdisciplinary research (pale botanical analysis). Archaeologists and students have made the excavations. We are to prepare on workshop with furnace to process gold and cooper valuable. The bigger number of ceramic fragment belongs to the cooper age (98%). We made a statistical analysis regarding the composition and technical analysis of the pottery. We also discovered a small number of tools (made of stone, flint, copper etc.), mainly into workshop. Our research brings into discussion a big number of jewels, made by stone, shell and gold. Most of them are beads, but there are also 5 golden thin plates. We presume that the gold was obtained from Arieş River, which is close to Cheile Turzii are noted to Băişoara, Buru, Făgetul Ierii, Iara, Moldoveneşti, Someşul Rece, Surduc in the Cluj Country. We investigated Hăşdate rivulet and Arieş River and established what kind of raw materials the area offered for prehistorically communities.
