Summary (English)
The archaeological researches at Bumbeşti Jiu (at “Gară” and “Vârtop” points) continued last year. We researched along the stoned wall and in the two military vici near the castrum. The 2006 diggings uncovered the access roads from the interior. In the military vicus from the “Gară” point, we discovered a pottery oven. This oven was very well preserved. We also discovered many ceramic fragments and a burnt clay mould. This mould had, on its pattern, a running lion. It was used in the decoration of the vessels. In the military “vicus” from the point “Vârtop”, the research continued in the Roman “thermae”. Here, we discovered the foundations of a dwelling and a few coins. All these coins were from the reigns of Trajan, Hadrian and Antoninius Pius.
