Summary (English)
RESCUE EXCAVATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF OSENOVO (Alexander Minchev – aleksander.minchev@gmail.com, Hristo Kuzov) Part of a large late antique storehouse for grain dated to the 4th – 6th centuries AD was explored. Fifteen dolia, most of them damaged and cracked, were discovered. Some of them were repaired with lead clamps. The dolia were placed without clear order and close to each other. The walls of the storehouse were not discovered within the excavated area and evidently, the building was large. The storehouse was located close to the north in front of a late antique fortress and part of its fortification wall is preserved. No finds and any material that may help exact dating were found. Most likely, the storehouse supplied grain for the port of the neighboring Kranea fortress located near the modern village of Kranevo. The storehouse was destroyed during the barbarian invasions in Moesia Inferior and Scythia Minor during the 6th century AD.
