Summary (English)
During the course of a watching brief on a site where six houses were under construction in via Roselli No.46 (locality of Sciuino-Carrera) a cremation burial was excavated. The burial produced no grave goods but its typology dates it to the period of the “Golasecca” civilisation.
On the northern edge of the lot, during the excavation for the fourth building from the west, at circa 60m from the tomb, a few fragments of residual domestic pottery of the “Golasecca” type had already come to light.
Tomb No.1, situated between the first house and the second from the west, is characterised by a small pit full of charcoal and is an infant burial. The pit’s fill comprised medium compact soil with a silty matrix, with a high percentage of charcoal but an absence of micro-particles of charcoal. The fill contained a few scattered cobbles (diam. 2-4cm) blackened by the charcoal, there was no indication of the presence of fragments of burnt, calcified bone. Also present were two small fragments of coarse ware containers of the “Golasecca” type. (Barbara Grassi, Roberto Mella Pariani)
