Excavation continued of the imposing Roman villa of which a bath complex and part of the pars urbana have been uncovered. In the western sector of the central area, investigated in a previous campaign, another room was discovered of which only a white and black mosaic floor was preserved, probably relating to a pool. To the north was the calidarium of the baths, as can be ascertained from finds of fragments of suspensurae. To the east was another room, perhaps identifiable as the tepidarium, paved with grey mortar, crushed lapilli and limestone chippings. The floor of this room had a ledge created using white limestone tesserae and black lava stone crustae running around its edges. Further north a large room built in several phases was investigated. The walls of both opus reticulatum and opus vittatum were abutted by large pilasters. At the centre of the room was a large rectangular fountain lined with opus signinum, whilst externally it had probably been faced with marble like that of the floor, as attested by finds of many fragments of polychrome marble. To the north and west of this imposing salon another series of residential rooms developed. The floor was in fine opus signinum decorated with flowers of white and black tesserae.
