Summary (English)
Excavations continued on the rustic villa close to the line of the via Campana, over an area of circa 400 m2. The two imposing structures in tufa opus quadratum that were found previously constituted the foundations of the villa’s pars rustica, of which two rooms were partially explored. The first presented a mosaic floor of white and black tessera with a motif of adjoining circles, and the remains of painted plaster on the walls. The second room had an opus signinum floor and preserved, along the perimeter walls, traces of IV style decoration on a red background. The west wing probably constituted the villa’s pars fructuaria: here the remains of a torcularium were identified. This had already gone out of use in antiquity, as in the case of the nearby villa in the locality of Casalanno which belonged to the gens Vestoria.
