Summary (English)
This campaign aimed to extend the excavation of the large heated room to the north and east, along the edge of the Donnini property, as far as the mouth of the praefurnium. At the same time, the edges of the baulk from the 1957-59 excavations were defined. A vast area of the hypocaust was exposed, revealing the remains of the small tile pillars ( supensurae) and large patches of the floor above.
Excavations continued in trenches A and B with the demolition of the baulk dividing the two in order to check a number of stratigraphic anomalies.
Work was undertaken by the Superintendency on consolidating the walls of the bath building.
During the excavations both ancient and modern archaeological material was found (flints, black gloss, Italian sigillata, thin-walled ware, glazed and majolica pottery). The investigation was run as a training excavation for the archaeology students of Macerata University.
