Summary (English)
Excavations and enhancement were undertaken in two areas along the via Amerina, a basalt road that was the axis of the Romanisation of the Ager Faliscus. The first, in the locality of Cavo degli Zucchi (Civita Castellana-Fabrica di Roma) is part of the larger complex of the southern necropolises of Falerii Novi (second half of the 3rd century B.C.-3rd century A.D.), where investigations began in 1983.
In particular the examination of the area of tomb 51 continued. This tomb had a portico with connecting theatre-shaped structure, from which the northern shoulder of the Roman bridge over the Fossa Maggiore seemed to have sprung. The excavation uncovered a complex series of interventions which took place over a period up to at least the Augustan period, when the paved road visible today was built.
