The Hillfort covers 1 hectare, with a fairly smooth surface. Along the perimeter there were the bank whose northern part rises1—2 m, with a base 20 —25 m wide. The bank was excavated by the trench 4 (24×2 m), and three construction periods could be observed, dating to the 10th cent. AD.
The excavation 16 (100 sq. m.) in the southern part of the area was started in 2006. Here a house was excavated, dating to the 10th century AD. The floor was sunken 30 cm., with a single hearth, while a kiln was also found.
In the excavation were found pits and constructions eastward of dwelling. They are attributed to different periods. Over 100 artefacts were recovered., including bone borers, beads, slate spindle whorls, bronze plate, weight plummet, rivets of a sailing boat, 2 iron hinges from a bowcase.
During this season works in the area of the blacksmith`s property continued. There were found the remains of the household rooms, including the remains of a metallurgical furnace in the new area (136 sq. m.). The complex dates to the 10th cent. AD. Among the features of the property was found a large building with a clay brazier which was repeatedly reconstructed. Among 300 finds were recovered : 2 battle axes with damages, a small bronze reliquary cross, a lance-shapes arrowhead, fragments of a scythe and sickles, bronze needle, pyrophillite spindle whorls and its waste, ceramic loomweights, fragments of a millstones, numerous iron blooms, slags and other iron-smelting and forging wastes. Of special are note the constructions and pits of the upper chronological horizon of the 12th — to the middle 13th cent. AD, when extramural part of the Hillfort was built.
With two trenches, 16 (170 sq. m.) and 17 (96 sq. m.), in the north-western area of the extramural part archaeologists continued investigating the properties of the 10th cent. AD., and studying the household rooms and the pits in the courtyards near some of the houses. The house of the 10th cent. AD in excavation 16 was completely studied. Adobe hearth was found in north-eastern corner of the storage room. Two tar-works and one inhumation burial in a small pit were found in excavation 17. Among finds: fragments of an iron end-piece of the plough (ploughshare) and a sickle, fishhooks and lead, numerous snips of the bronze cauldrons and slab lead, bow-shaped drill, a tool for cutting honey combs, a small bronze pendant forming a snake etc.
With a new trench (28 sq. m.) a house`s remains were found in the north-western area of the extramural part of the Hillfort, dating to 11th cent. AD, and another of the 10th century AD. There was found a bronze cover, enameled in many-colors.
At the excavation plot 9 (27 sq. m.) the remains of the buildings were revealed near the foot of the Hillfort. Among the artifacts found there are the rivets of a sailing boat, bone borers, knucklebones, fragments of the sickle, 2 frogs for a bowcase, a glass button with bronze lug.
