Summary (English)

  • Two tumuli (11, 12) on the top of the Husykova hora (the hill in the Tovtry mountain-ridge) were investigated during excavations in 2010.
The tumulus’ height is 0,4 m, its diameter is 12×13m. Stones were distributed chaotically at a depth of 0,4—0,5 m. A few burials were found in the tumulus.
Burial 1 was uncovered in southern part at a depth of 0,6 m. There was a crouched individual buried on his left side with his head to the west. His arms were bent at the elbows and his hands lay closer to his face. A flint blade was found under the skull. The upper part of the skeleton lay on small stones and was overlain by the same stones. The lower extremities lay below the head`s level at 0,2 m. At 1 m westwards of burial 1, between some stones, was found an another skull without a mandible. Under the skull was found another flint flake
Burial 2 was located in the central part of the tumulus. A natural hollow (1,6×1,2 m in sizes, 0,75 m in depth) was used for its construction. The eastern and southern walls were faced with stone slabs. The northern and western walls were formed from bedrock. Here were revealed at least 2 skeletons. Mixed bones are placed on different levels. In the filling of the tumulus were found a flint file and a blade.

Its width is 0,5—0,8 m, diameter is 11 m. A further stone construction similar to a cist was found in the center of the tumulus. In the north-western part of the mound was discovered burial 1 at the depth of 0,35 m. The skeleton was lying in a crouched position, on his right side with his head to the west. The geometrically ornamented pottery lay beside the head of the deсeased. Burial 2 was located near the center of the tumulus. Here were revealed at least 2 skeletons.
