Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF OVCHARTSI (Plamen Karailiev – umbo@abv.bg, Reni Petrova) The farm building was explored in Sector 1. It measured 41.20 m by 23 m and covered an area of c. 950 sq. m. Its walls were 70 cm wide and their upper part was built of sun-dried bricks. House No. 1 was explored in Sector 2. Its floor was of trampled soil. Two buildings were partly explored to the northeast of House No. 1 and to the south of the farm building, the first one 18.30 m by 5 m in size and the second one 17 m by 6 m in size. Sherds were found. According to the osteological analysis of the animal bones, there were 68 ox and 36 horses. Judging from the pottery, the settlement dated to the 12th century.
