Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR KABYLE (Ivailo Lozanov – ivaylo_lozanov@yahoo.com, Kristiyan Hristov) The site was situated in the area of a tumular necropolis of the 2nd – 3rd centuries AD where eight tumuli had been explored. Thirty-five sondages were carried out. Fragments of building ceramics and sherds of the Roman period were found in part of the sondages. However, no cultural layers were preserved. A tumulus, 25 – 30 m in diameter and 3.20 m in height, was documented. Part of its southern periphery was explored. A ditch about 1.50 m deep was documented. It contained charcoal and fragments of bricks, tegulae and imbrices of the Roman period. Probably, this was part of a ditch from where the earth for the construction of the tumulus was taken.
