Summary (English)
URVICH FORTRESS (Philip Petrunov – fili4@abv.bg) In Sector XIV, in Trench Zh6 three Christian graves were excavated, which were previously documented in 2014. Four new graves were documented, two of them with burial chambers built of stone slabs. In Trench Zh8, pieces of mortar, fragmentary frescoes and roof-tiles were discovered. Part of the roof-tiles originated from the late church and had a monogram Ѱ. Several Ottoman and Late Roman coins were found as well. In Trench Z10 debris from the church was discovered and the explorations of a Late Antique stratum were launched, containing fragmentary sun-dried bricks and a number of coins of the 4th – 6th centuries AD. In Sector XVIII, in Trench V1 the cellar of the monastery kitchen was explored. The explorations of St. Elias Church were completed.
