Summary (English)
The excavations during the 5th campaign added significantly to the knowledge and definition of the spatial and topographical organisation of the entire archaeological area.
Excavations took place in areas outside the baths complex, with the aim of obtaining new information about the spatial organisation of the area.In Area D a larger section of the basalt road, probably belonging to the town of Attidium, was uncovered. Large sections of the road are well-preserved and are protected uphill by a terrace wall built of small blocks of local stone and tile. Two small drainage channels ran along the length of the wall. None of the structures were exposed in their entirety, which makes it impossible at present to verify the effective planimetric articulation of this stretch of road.
A preliminary study of the pottery seems to reconfirm that occupation of the site continued until the 6th century A.D. However, further study will define a more precise chronological seriation, which will associate the various finds with the different structures.
