Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR SUVOROVO (Vladimir Slavchev – vladosl@yahoo.com) The northern wall of Building 11-1 was discovered. Its lower part was built of three courses of roughly-cut stones. The oven in the northern room was partly covered by the collapsed northern wall. The collapsed burned debris of the walls was excavated in the southwestern room. The floor was discovered, paved with stone slabs. The lower part of the southern wall was constructed of stones, arranged at least in three courses. The eastern and the western walls were constructed of wattle-and-daub plastered with clay. These walls collapsed during the fire that destroyed the building. The northern wall was built of sun-dried bricks. A clay platform, 1 m by 2 m in size, was discovered in the southeastern corner of the southeastern room, built over a pad of wooden beams. Collapsed burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub, covering an area of c. 60 sq. m, was discovered to the north of Building 11-1. These were the remains of a burned building. The finds from the excavations included c. 10 fragmentary ceramic vessels, flint and bone tools.
