Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR SUVOROVO (Vladimir Slavchev – vladosl@yahoo.com, Maria Gurova) Eleven consecutive burned plasters were documented on the clay platform, which was 50 cm high and situated in the southeastern corner of Building 11-1. The floor in the eastern part of the southeastern room was lower and a step was discovered. Fragmentary wattle-and-daub was discovered in the northern part of the building, collapsed close to the northern wall and burned by the fire that destroyed the structure. The wattle-and-daub was constructed over a wall built of uneven stones, 30 cm wide and preserved up to 40 cm in height. The northeastern clay platform was discovered in the room. A terracotta tube, 90 cm by 90 cm in size and 30 cm deep, was also discovered. It was probably used for processing clay for pottery production. Collapsed burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub was discovered to the north of Building 11-1, covering an area of c. 60 sq. m and belonging to Building 12-1. The finds from the excavations included fragments from two terracotta anthropomorphic figurines, sherds from about dozen of vessels, bone tools and 44 flint artifacts: flakes, scrapers, a cutter and an awl. The traceological analysis showed that eight artifacts were used: four flakes and four tools (blades from sickles and tools for processing leather, stone and minerals).
