Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS NEAR SUVOROVO (Vladimir Slavchev – vladosl@yahoo.com) The southern part of the Mediaeval sunken-floored house was explored in trench C3. The interior sides of the northern, southern and eastern walls were faced with timber and carbonized remains of it were preserved. The house had a ridge roof supported by three timber posts arranged in a line across the room. The entrance was on the western side. Sherds from six pots were found on the floor of the house. Burned wattle-and-daub from destroyed houses was documented in Trenches С4–5 and В4–5. A small iron knife and Thracian sherds of the 5th – 1st centuries BC were found. Debris from a burned house was discovered in Trench B4 at 50 cm deeper than the other debris. The house was two-storey. Animal bones and sherds from the Middle Chalcolithic period were found, including two intact vessels. Plaster colored with yellow-white mineral paint was documented. Sector of the wall was discovered, preserved at 45 cm in height.
