Summary (English)
SAMUILITSA 2 CAVE (Stanimira Taneva – stanimira_taneva@abv.bg) The cave was explored during 1954 – 1960. Several flint assemblages were specified, which displayed Mousterian features and Levallois technique. One sample from the excavations was dated to 42,780 ± 1270 BР. In 2011, samples for tephra were collected from two layers in the upper and the lower part of the sequence. Several flint artifacts were found when the profiles were cleaned up, most of them dated to the Middle Paleolithic period, but some could be also related to the Upper Paleolithic period.
