ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF DELYAN (Philip Mihailov – philip.mihaylov@gmail.com) An area of 473 sq. m was explored. Intact archaeological structures were not discovered. The layer from the modern building activities, covering the archaeological site, contained single cremated bones and two terracotta spindle whorls. Part of a small ceramic cup was found in Sondage 2. Single grave goods from destroyed burial were found in Sondage 7: three bronze rings of the 7th – 6th century BC, a pendant, a glass bead and fragmentary iron objects. Pieces from cremated bones were discovered nearby. Part of Structure 2.1 was discovered. It was documented in 2011 and is partly destroyed by the modern building activities. A flint arrowhead of the Late Chalcolithic period or the Early Bronze Age was found in the layer from the modern building activities, covering the archaeological site. During field surveys, single Early Bronze Age sherds were found nearby.
