ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF OVCHARTSI (Angelina Pirovska – pirovska.ar@gmail.com) The archaeological site was partly destroyed by a mine. Thracian sherds of the Late Bronze Age (1600/1500 – 1100 BC), excavated during mining activities, were found. Pit No. 1 with a barrel-like shape and 1.06 m in diameter was explored in Sondage No. 1. There was a shallow extension from its western side, 65 cm in diameter. The pit contained Thracian sherds of the Late Bronze Age and animal bones. A Late Bronze Age settlement was situated to the east of the excavated area.
