Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF NOVA NADEZHDA (Ventsislav Dinchev – vdintchev@abv.bg, Mario Ivanov) Sherds were found and two pits of the 2nd millennium BC were explored. During the 2nd – first half of the 3rd centuries AD pottery production was carried out on the site. Four kilns were explored: three for pottery and one for building ceramics. A significant quantity of sherds was found inside the kilns and around them, including waste production. The ceramic products comprised vessels, anthropomorphic figurines, roof-tiles (mostly tegulae) and pipes for water-conduits. Three dugout structures were also explored: either hearths or kilns. In 1941, a hoard of 230 denarii of the 2nd – first half of the 3rd centuries AD was discovered in the area of the Village of Nova Nadezhda. Two dugouts with hearths of the 9th – 11th centuries were explored on the site and sherds from pots of that date were found.
