ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS IN PAVLIKENI (Kalin Chakarov – musei_pavlikeni@abv.bg, Deyan Rabovyanov, Julieta Giuleva) In 1959, archaeological excavations were carried out and pottery production of the 2nd – 3rd centuries AD was documented. In 2015, seven partly preserved pottery kilns were discovered. They had chambers, 1 – 1.35 m in diameter, praefurnia and pits in front of them. The finds included sherds, waste products (small ceramic cups) and a bronze appliqué showing a bust of Dionysus.
