Summary (English)
PHILIPPOPOLIS (Maya Martinova – maya_martinova@abv.bg) A sector of the western area of the forum was excavated. A new sector of the stylobate of the western portico, 3 m long, was explored. A marble base of a column was discovered in situ and parts of the pavement of the area, constructed of marble slabs, were excavated. This sector of the area was inhabited from the 6th to 12th centuries AD. The southern propylaea of the forum were discovered, built of sandstone ashlars held together with iron clamps. The place of the base of a column was documented. It belonged to the portico consisting of four columns that belonged to the façade of the propylaea. Sectors of cardo and decumanus were explored, making a T-like junction to the south of the propylaea. The pavement was constructed of large syenite slabs. The pavements of the earlier streets beneath were documented as well.
