Summary (English)
PLISKA (Hristina Stoyanova – hstoqnova@abv.bg, Stanislav Ivanov) A settlement of the second half of the 9th – 10th centuries AD with two occupation periods was discovered in the Outer Town. Seventeen sunken-floored houses, two storage rooms, two Christian graves and a surrounding ditch were explored. The houses were arranged in three rows. One house was earlier and was situated outside the settlement plan. The finds included a bronze coin of Nikephoros I Genikos, animal bones and sherds of the end of the 8th – beginning of the 9th centuries AD. The settlement was related to Site 40 situated nearby and partly explored during the beginning of the 1980s. The site was a boyar’s estate that existed during the second half of the 9th – 10th centuries AD.
