Summary (English)
During work undertaken by ENEL in via Carpineto Sinello, a cuniculus came to light. Its intrados is situated at a depth of circa 1.25m below street level; the bottom is not visible as the cuniculus is filled to a height of circa 2.30m from its floor level by a deposit of clayey soil. The structure is 0.60-0.70m wide and is thought to be orientated on a NW-SE axis. It is likely that it formed part of the water management system made necessary by the presence of the low hill which is skirted to the west by the modern road. It is not possible to give a precise date. (Stefano Musco, L. De Michelis)
