Summary (English)
This research explores the ancient landscapes in the area of Pian del Marmo, situated along the via Boccea (ancient via Cornelia) in the western part of Rome’s Suburbio. Beginning with the recent discovery of a stretch of a road-cutting and a small nucleus of “a cappucina” tombs of imperial date in via Fraconalto, a series of finds made during the last forty years have been re-examined with the aim of creating a diachronic reconstruction of the area’s topography, with a chronology running from the archaic to late antique periods.
