Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF GORNI DABNIK (Milena Raicheva – milenaraycheva@gmail.com) Excavations were carried out in the area between two tumuli. A pit was discovered in Sondage B14, containing pieces of charcoal, animal bones and sherds from pots and an askos of the Early Bronze Age. A pile of sherds of the Early Bronze Age was discovered close to the pit. A pit of the 1st millennium BC was explored in Sondage A4, containing pieces of charcoal, bones from pigs and sheep, sherds and a skeleton of a dog, two years old, placed on the bottom. A burial of a man, 45 – 50 years old, was discovered in Sondage B13; he was laid supine with head to the north. Mild degenerative-destructive changes (spondylosis) of the skeleton were identified. An iron knife was discovered to the left of the pelvis. The radiocarbon date of the skeleton was 556 – 500 BC. An oval burial pit oriented east – west was discovered in Sondage A7. A woman, at least 18 – 20 years old, was laid in the pit. A pierced object from the bone of a goat was found in the grave. The radiocarbon date of the skeleton was AD 262 – 318. Both graves were situated at c. 100 m apart, close to the two tumuli.
