Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF BOHOT (Zhivko Uzunov – jivko_uzunov@abv.bg, Krastyu Chukalev) In 1929, a Late Hellenistic Thracian treasure was discovered in the region, consisting of nine silver bowls and a bronze vessel. The archaeological site was identified in 2011. It was situated on a low slope towards a dried river bed. A tumulus, 1 m high, was situated at c. 200 m to the north of the site. During field surveys in 2012, sherds of the 5th – 1st centuries BC and burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub were discovered on the surface. During the excavations in 2019, burned fragmentary wattle-and-daub from a destroyed building was discovered and sherds from Thracian pottery (pots, bowls, dishes, lekanai and a krater) of the Hellenistic period were found.
