  • EXPLORATIONS NEAR THE VILLAGE OF ZLATAR (Svetlana Venelinova – lihnida_sv@abv.bg, Maria Gurova) The settlement mound of the Late Chalcolithic period was situated on a high terrace on the northern bank of the Selska Reka River. The site was published in the 1960s. The settlement mound was 8 m high and 70 – 90 m in diameter. Sherds typical of the II – III phases of Kodjadermen Culture were found; biconical vessels and dishes prevailed. Bone, horn, flint and stone tools were also found. Piles of burned debris and fragmentary clay plaster from an oven were discovered in the central part of the site. Sherds were discovered on an area of 3.75 ha situated to the east and southeast of the settlement mound.
