Summary (English)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR BREZNIK (Philip Mihailov – philip.mihaylov@gmail.com) The site was situated on the slopes of a hill. Thirty sondages were carried out in the Northern Sector. The finds included single sherds of the Roman period, an iron arrowhead, hobnails, nails, wedges and bronze coins of the 3rd – 5th centuries AD. Eleven sondages were carried out in the Southern Sector. Fourteen pits of the 3rd – 4th centuries AD were discovered. Foundations of an almost square farm building were excavated, built of uneven stones. A kiln of the Late Iron Age or the Roman period was also discovered in the sector and a stratum of the 1st millennium BC was documented. A lead sling bullet of the Late Iron Age and a stone axe-hammer and a stone adze of the Early Bronze Age were found, too.
