Summary (English)
During work on the construction of a sewer a road-bed cut into the tufa bed-rock was uncovered. The cut was 5.00m wide with a maximum depth of 2.80m from the bed-rock surface. The cut was on a SW-NE alignment and a narrow channel (0.10m wide and 0.60m deep) for rainwater run-off ran along its south side. The road was covered by a layer of earth that probably relates to its last phase of use. This contained ceramic fragments including one of black glaze ware (4th to 1st century B.C.). It is possible that this cut may have some relationship to the road that is already published. (Stefano Musco, L. De Michelis, E. Brienza – Cooperativa Archeologica Parsifal)
