Summary (English)

  • Remains of a villa were discovered during the construction of the train rail (T.A.V.). The findings include terracing with work in opus incertum connected to water drainage canals that flowed upstream. In front of the wall of terracing there was a basalt pavement delimited by a row of blocks of tufo. Test excavations effected in the immediate area reveald a pavement in cocciopesto, a structure covered with plaster and an area paved with basalt. The materials discovered permit a generic dating of the group to the late Republican – early Imperial age. The presence of a tomb between two canals connected with the wall of terracing suggests a frequenting of the area even after it was abandoned.
