    Chronology

    Season

      • The archaeological excavations in the sector of basilica D focused on the south side of the basilica. Here, we opened new sections, and went on with the research in the old ones. During the campaign, the image of a civil area in the southern part of the basilica became more pregnant. The general image is of a reutilisation of former official buildings in the second half of the 6th century. As a conclusion, the main idea is that the area was filled with workshops and dwellings, south of basilica D. In the sectors C2-C2, we conducted excavations that revealed (in C1) a building from the Late Antiquity, probably from the 6th century. Also, we conducted geophysical researches, in sector A of the site. We identified a round building there. In the "fortified annex", we conducted stratigraphical researches and added details of planimetry. Outside the city, we conducted researches in the sectors "Platou East" and "Necropolis". In the last one, we identified several graves from the Early Roman period.
