A stretch of late antique road, a system of water channels of Hellenistic date and a substantial prehistoric phase were uncovered at Casoria (locality of Fontane). In fact, the ancient ground levels covered by the so-called “Astroni” (3700 B.P.) eruption revealed the remains of beaten earth tracks with cart ruts and crossroads where secondary tracks met the main ones. Intersecting ploughed areas and pathways at the edge of cultivated fields were also uncovered.
