    • ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS NEAR KABYLE (Totko Stoyanov – totko.stoyanov@gmail.com, Rumen Mikov) Thirty sondages were carried out. No occupation layer was documented in Sector A. Ancient sherds and fragments of building ceramics were found, including sherds from imported Hellenistic black-gloss pottery and sherds from vessels of the Roman period. A sector of an ancient road, c. 10 m long, was discovered in Sector B. The road was up to 4 m wide and led towards ancient Kabyle. It was constructed of small and middle size uneven stones. Cart tracks were visible in the northern part of the sector. There were hollows on some parts of the road. Repairs of the road were documented. Fragments of ancient and probably mediaeval building ceramics were used for filling the hollows on the road.
