Season

    • Ancient cemetery from Dumitreni village is located at 0,50 km north of the village and at 0,05 km south of a for¬mer animals farm, on a promontory from the north side of the confluence of two valleys, the point Loam. Reported in the spring of 2015, the site was partially destroyed by extracting clay by locals. There could be recovered some bones of a human skeleton and three fragmentary pottery coming from a destroyed burial tomb, with north-south orientation. All three vessels are wheel-made of coarse paste, with sandy and pebble in composition. As typology, a container is an amphorete and two others – medium-sized pots. A west-east-oriented burial tomb without any inventory was investigated too. According to the anthropological measurements, both skeletons belonged to women 35-40 years. On the surface of the site a few pieces of gray ware, wheel-made of fine and coarse paste, have been gathered, as well as a fragment of a transparent glass cup with thin walls, probably of conical form.
