Part of a sarcophagus and its lid, datable to the first decades of the fourth century AD, were discovered during agricultural work in a soil associated with structures and materials from the Roman era. The marble sarcophagus belonged perhaps to a vast cemetery area or to a family tomb. It was decorated in relief only on the front, and its figured scenes refer to Christian iconography: the Good Shepherd, the defunct border perhaps of saints or apostles represented in a natural atmosphere which evokes the afterlife.
