Chronology

Season

    • In April 2001 during the construction of a sewer by the "Consorzio Recupero Urbano", two cuniculae came to light on the northern side of the road. The first was 0.65m wide and 1.80m high with a barrel vault, of which the intrados was at a depth of 1.80m below street level. This structure runs in a straight line on an E-W axis and is partially blocked by a deposit of clay-rich soil. It was possible to enter this cuniculus for a distance of 9m. The second cuniculus was only visible on the southern side of the trench. It also has a barrel vault, but follows an "L" shaped course. (Stefano Musco, Patrizia Campagna, Sergio Fontana)
