This research explores the ancient landscapes in the area of Pian del Marmo, situated along the via Boccea (ancient via Cornelia) in the western part of Rome’s _Suburbio_. Beginning with the recent discovery of a stretch of a road-cutting and a small nucleus of “a cappucina” tombs of imperial date in via Fraconalto, a series of finds made during the last forty years have been re-examined with the aim of creating a diachronic reconstruction of the area’s topography, with a chronology running from the archaic to late antique periods.
