Chronology

  • 99 BC - 399 AD

Season

    • Excavations took place in via di Torre Rossa in Rome, in a suburban area close to the ancient city crossed by the via Aurelia and via Cornelia. A large hydraulic structure, interpreted as a _castellum_ _aquae_ was identified, presumably a public structure and connected to one of the two public aqueducts attested here: the _aqua_ _Alesientina_ or the _aqua_ _Traiana_. The excavation also made it possible to re-examine several previous finds, also hydraulic structures, probably also connected to the two aqueducts.
