Summary (English)
Between October 2004 and January 2005 a watching brief and consequent excavationson the site where the road at Vanzaghello underwent alterations as part of the construction of a road link between Boffalora and Malpensa uncovered six modern kilns. All differed in dimension and alignment but were of the same date.
In May 2005, during work on the road variation at Inveruno, the remains of similar kilns were found: 5 kilns (G-H-L-M-N) in Inveruno (MI) itself and a dump relating to a sixth kiln (I), probably located in the vicinity of Mesero. As at Vanzaghello, no material was recovered to provide an exact chronology. Despite this, documents attesting the activity of “kilnmen” in this area in the first half of the 17th century can be considered valid for dating purposes (as for the kilns at Vanzaghello).
