Summary (English)
A number of underground chambers were discovered during the restructuring of a building in via Santa Chiara. They were built in a composite technique using stone blocks, cement conglomerate and opus latericius. Based on the excavation data, the structures are interpreted as being part of a Roman bath complex with various phases of use. Between the late imperial period and the late antique phase (mid 4th century A.D.), the rooms were filled with dumps containing an abundance of pottery. The medieval and modern phases of the town stand on this layer.
