Chronology

  • 100 AD - 200 AD

Season

    • In the course of excavations carried out for the laying of cables at the intersection of via dell'Acqua Bulicante and via Portici two inhumation tombs came to light, coverei with tiles "alla cappuccina" and cut into the tufo which forms the bedrock. Each of the tombs had already been disturbed by previous modern intrusions. Neither had grave goods, although in the tomb to the southeast two tiles were stamped, allowing us to date them to the middle of the second century A.D.
